The Alliance Française in Kampala (AFK) is part of a worldwide network of
more than 1,100 Alliance Française in 136 countries over five continents .
The Institution was founded in 1883 and has it's headquarters in Paris. In
Uganda, the Alliance Française was established in 1954 as a non-profit
making Association. In 2009 it became the linguistic operator for the
French Embassy in Uganda. An expert in its field whereby all the afk
teachers follow regular training in Uganda, the East African Region and in
France, to stay up to date in the latest research in education and language
skills. The teachers are also habilitated in teacher training and so work
closely with the Ugandan French Teachers Association and the French
Embassy Linguistic Department. The only language centre in Uganda
accredited to pass exams of the French National Education, Chambre of
Commerce and Industry in Paris and French University exams.
The Alliance Française in Kampala offers all levels of french lessons for
beginners through to advanced, conversation, private, individual,
children, business and specialist professions... And it also offers official
translations and interpreters certified by the Alliance Française in Paris.
