These diplomas awarded by the French Ministry of Education evaluate your ability to communicate, both in speaking and writing with French speakers. It is a useful certification to integrate a school in a French speaking country, or for employers who want new hires to have a certain level in French.
3 types of public:
- DELF Prim (6-12 years old)
- DELF Junior (13-17 years old)
- DELF Tout Public (Adults)
The DELF covers the first 4 levels of the Common European Framework reference (CEFR) for languages (A1 to B2), while the DALF validates the level of advanced speakers (C1 and C2). At each level a series of tests assesses four skills:
- Oral comprehension
- Oral expression
- Written comprehension
- Written expression
Each of the 4 parts is marked out of 25 points. With a total of 50 points out of 100, you get your diploma
A1.1 (DELF Prim only): 155,000 ugx (AFK students) or 220,000 ugx (non students)
A1: 175,000 ugx (AFK students) or 250,000 ugx (non students)
A2: 215,000 ugx (AFK students) or 300,000 ugx (non students)
B1: 250,000 ugx (AFK students) or 360,000 ugx (non students)
B2: 300,000 ugx (AFK students) or 410,000 ugx (non students)
C1: 350,000 ugx (AFK students) or 470,000 ugx (non students)
C2: 400,000 ugx (AFK students) or 520,000 ugx (non students)
DELF Tout public: 27th and 28th of March, 26th and 27th of June, 25th and 26th of September, 11th and 12th December of 2026.
DELF Junior: 12th and 13th of June, 20th and 21st of November of 2026
DELF Prim: 5th and 6th of June, 13th and 14th of November of 2026

TERMS AND CONDITIONS
All candidates must confirm registration by registering and paying for the exam before the registration deadline.
The registration is strictly personal and non-transferable
Any registration presupposes that the candidate is aware of the dates of the exam he/she will take.
Once a payment is done, it cannot be refunded under any condition. It can be transferred to another DELF session of the exam only within the civil year (January-December) and only once. In the case of an absence on the day of the exam that has not been justified at least 24 hours prior to the exam, a medical certificate from an hospital or a medical doctor will be required by the Alliance française. It needs to be handed or sent through email to the Head of Courses, at [email protected], in a maximum of 2 working days after the exam.
All candidates must present a valid ID on the day of examination.
Exam dates and timetables must be observed. Candidates who arrive late on the day of the exam will not be allowed to take the exam. Candidates are expected 30 minutes before the starting time of the exam.
The exam center will send an e-mail to the candidates as soon as the provisional certificates are available. Candidates must pick up their provisional certificates at the front desk or request them by e-mail. Any corrections to personal information must be reported within one week from the day on which exam results are reported.
